This outcome can be attributed to the ability of the ESS to utilize the energy committed in the DA market as a reserve and to provide both upward and downward regulation at any time. For example, between 8 am and 12 am, the conventional modeling for reserve provision could only allocate discharging DA, with no FCR participation.
