ntry a European benchmark in the development of solid-state batteries. The experience of the companies that make up the initial group of investors ensures Basquevolt is in a very important competitive position both in the battery race, where there also important opportunities for collaboration, and in the stor
Nevertheless, given how important and interesting this news is, we had to share it. The Basquevolt project, which expects an investment of €700 million, got started two years ago in secret, and its main goal is setting up a production line to make solid-state batteries by 2027.
This is one of the main objectives set out in the BASQUEVOLT’s articles of association, in which the Basque Government, Iberdrola, CIE Automotive, Enagás, EIT InnoEnergy, and CIC energiGUNE all feature as founding shareholders.
In this sense, BASQUEVOLT plans to launch the first production line within 4 years, supported by an investment of more than 700 million euros, which will be able to generate more than 800 direct jobs.
